Ibeos, a leading provider of standard and custom electronics for spacecraft, is excited to welcome John Moberly to its executive team as Chief Growth Officer and GM of Government Programs.
“We are excited to add John’s impressive experience to the Ibeos team. From serving our nation as an Army officer to developing and supporting critical national security space programs, John’s background puts him in a unique position to anticipate the needs of our customers, especially in the national security space. With John’s help, we look forward to introducing Ibeos’s world- class avionics to a larger customer base”
says John Bevilacqua, Ibeos’ CEO.
In his role, John Moberly will be responsible for engaging new customers and guiding Ibeos’ path forward with product development and enhancement.
“At Ibeos, we want to make sure our core technologies address the needs of the customer, and John will be instrumental in providing that knowledge and direction. In addition, as General Manager of Government Programs, John will play a key role in ensuring we are simultaneously executing on our commitments to our customers”
says Abigail Davidson, Vice President of Operations.
John brings over 25 years of experience in the space industry to Ibeos spanning advanced space systems, payloads, algorithms, and most recently space cyber and data protection. Before joining the Ibeos team John was the Sr, VP of Space for SpiderOak Mission Systems, where he led the charge in helping the company establish a new standard for the secure transfer and exchange of information to, through and from orbiting space assets. John was also the president of LeoLabs Federal, a commercial provider of radar monitoring, collision avoidance, and space domain awareness services for objects in low-Earth orbit. He previously led the Space & Intelligence Business Area for Areté & Associates, a company delivering algorithms for weak-signature detection and AI/machine learning applications for the Defense
Department and Intelligence Community along with large company experience with General Dynamics Mission Systems and Hughes Network Systems previously. He retired from the Army after 20 years with extensive experience in the National Reconnaissance Office and National Security Space and served as an Army Field Artillery officer through field artillery battery and division headquarters company commands.
With a strong engineering and management background, John brings expertise in technical program management, business development and government relations that will accelerate growth at Ibeos.
“I look forward to helping Ibeos accelerate growth.”
Moberly stated:
“We are a “scale-up” rather than a startup, and our technologies are a critical enabler to the rapidly growing space market. Ibeos brings key solutions to power, energy storage, and processing and compute at the edge for time critical missions.”
Moberly retired as an Army officer with twenty years of service, the last twelve of which were spent as a space operations officer with tours in the National Reconnaissance Office, the Army staff, and as the Intelligence Community portfolio manager in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Moberly served as an executive at General Dynamics Mission Systems, Hughes Network Systems, and Arete before ramping up early stage space startups LeoLabs and SpiderOak. Ibeos was founded in 2013 with the goal of providing advanced satellite avionics. Ibeos’ core products include power conversion and distribution, command and data handling, payload computing, and energy storage. Over the last 10 years, Ibeos has delivered electronics to NASA, DOD, and commercial customers. Many of its core products are TRL 9 and currently operating on orbit.
