Ibeos has completed the delivery of seven units of its new 50V, 1 kWhr battery. The delivery includes 4 flight units, 2 engineering development units, and a qualification unit, all delivered within 7 months of contract signing. The program represents one of the fastest turn programs in Ibeos’ past seven years- with the first flight unit delivered less than 6 months.
The kWhr battery is designed for missions requiring a radiation tolerant, highly mass-efficient, and reliable solution for energy storage. The kWhr battery leverages Ibeos’ heritage 14V battery design- with circuitry to provide protections including over-charge, over-discharge, and over-current.
Ibeos’ components leverage our staff’s decades of experience designing full subsystems for satellites- from small science and experimental spacecraft to large commercial GEO commsats. “Our experience in these high-level designs allows us to really understand the customer’s high level requirements and how the component can best support the mission,” says John Bevilacqua, Ibeos’ CTO.
Ibeos’ battery build and test lab includes brand new equipment for welding, cell and battery level testing, and full life-cycle testing capabilities as well. We look forward to continuing to provide our customers with energy storage solutions to meet their mission needs.
