Enter the initial orbital elements and start/end epochs below and click "Propagate Orbit". The resulting 3D plot and ground track will then be displayed. If the "Animate Propagation" checkbox is selected, the 3D plot will show an animation that is updated after each orbital period. To compute solar power generation as a function of time, define the pointing, efficiency, and cell area for each solar panel in the interface that will appear below the groundtrack after propagation has completed.
This orbit propagator and solar power simulator is a simplified version of a tool that we have built for satellite energy balance analysis.
